What the managed service adds on top of open-source dbtrail
dbtrail Cloud runs the same open-source engine, operated for you. Everything in this section is Cloud-only — it requires the managed control plane at dbtrail.com/app and does not apply to a self-hosted open-source deployment.
What Cloud adds:
- Managed infrastructure — dbtrail provisions and operates the agents and the change index; you bring only a MySQL connection (or run a local agent so data never leaves your network).
- Dashboard — register servers, browse changes, recover, and manage backups from the web app.
- REST API — the public API at api.dbtrail.com with API keys for scripts and CI/CD.
- Teams — multiple users, roles, and RBAC plus access rules with column redaction.
- Forensics — who-changed attribution, user activity, and connection history.
- Scheduled backups — managed snapshots and point-in-time recovery with per-plan retention.
